Fast Facts About VR

  • The global market for augmented, virtual reality, and mixed reality is expected to grow to nearly $300 billion U.S. dollars by 2024. Many developers rely heavily on Unity, the 3D engine that fuels everything from gaming to industrial design, to create the most immersive experiences.

  • Oculus Quest 2 is an all-in-one VR system - no wires or cords attached - that pairs with Unity, an industry-standard game engine. With this technology, teens can create awesome worlds users can see, hear, and lose themselves in.

  • As of this year, it’s projected that 58.9 million people will use VR and 93.3 million will use AR at least once per month in the US; to put that in perspective, roughly 17.7% and 28.1% of the total population.

  • Of the many STEM jobs of the future, VR and AR programmers, developers, designers, technicians, and product managers are sure to be among some of the most exciting out there.
